World We Imagine Part 3
Pathway to Success (PTS)
The road to success is never linear because many people lack the proper foundation and educational resources to make it to the finish line. For students at a four-year institution, they are presented with an abundance of school resources and a strong alumni network to thrive in their career pursuits. For example, USC as an institution has the proper funding, curriculum, and professional network to prepare students for success; However, this type of four-year university privilege is not available for everyone. This is why an organization like Pathway to Success (PTS) needs to exist to allow students who are unable to start at a four-year university with the chance to succeed.
Pathway to Success (PTS) is a non-profit organization that focuses on giving the proper
consultation and information to community college students. The organization is designed to provide mentorship to keep community college students on track to transfer. To ensure the effectiveness of the mentorship, the organization will establish partnerships with universities to invite alumni and counselors to assist students in the application process. To optimize exposure, the organization will also build a strong social media presence to give tips and deadlines for interested students. As an organization, we are aware that financial circumstances may be a fear that prevents students from applying for prestigious private universities. For this reason, PTS intends to break that stereotype by showing students different pathways to receive scholarships and grants.
It is clear that all resources are not distributed equally, which is why the Pathway to Success (PTS) intends to extend a helping hand by targeting students from low-income, first-generation, and immigrant families. Equal opportunities are the core value of our organization, and we believe our educational services will make an impact in the world. To jumpstart our vision, we are inviting AMDP to become our partnering donors to fund scholarships for our prospective transferring students to ensure that they have a fair chance at a top tier university and a bright future.
